E – ENVIRONMENTAL

Environmental arrangements are something every organisation must now consider introducing to ensure they comply with relevant legislation and to also demonstrate they consider the moral and ethical impact that they have. Our top tips are:

  • Think global but act local. There is a wider issue but if all organisations and individuals can make a difference within their control, this will help. Small changes first.
  • As well as having an environmental policy, conducting an environmental impact assessment will identify if you have any issues and what you can do to minimise it.
  • You could even undertake a waste management survey to see if savings can be made on what you may be paying for going to landfill.
  • Reduce how much packaging you purchase. Can you reuse it or send it back to the supplier. Recycling items within the organisation is much better that sending it to landfill.
  • Install automatic sensors on lights so they are not left on accidentally.
  • If that’s too expensive, display stickers next to light switches to encourage team members to turn them off.
  • Practice using spill kits just in case the real thing happens.

There are so many initiatives to consider. Not sure what you need? Contact us as we are happy to advise and guide you.
